After a very long time Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (jr. ntr) came up with a complete commercial mass movie DAMMU. After Adhurs, Bridhavanam, Shakti, Oosaravelli family and drama oriented films, Junior NTR came in as high voltage mass film Dammu. Lets get into the complete review of Dammu..
Story: Movie starts with boypati srinu clapping and says – Start Camera, action in his style – Junior NTR is an orphan who was adopted by big Raja’s family in a small village. Tarak (Raja Vasi Reddy) who always listens to his grand father Kota Srinivasa Rao in any issue related to the family, one day he has to take the responsibilities to lead his family and villagers from blooded thirst villans. Initially Raja Vasi Reddy wont agree for this but later on he will accept. Raja Vasi Reddy wants to make peace always and initially he requests the enemies to allow peace in the village but they never listen to him, then the rest of the story follows.. How Raja Vasi reddy will fight with goons and make peace in the village.
Performances:
NTR: He is at his best in the character “Raja Vasi Reddy” no doubt if any other hero opted for this character, he couldn’t do justice and even the movie will bomb at boxoffice. NTR telugu diction was once again proved in dammu movie. He just gone through his normal ease in all the scenes. Couldn’t do justice in dance thats for sure.
Trisha and Karthika just came in and went through the songs and some scenes with NTR. Both of them dont have enough space in the story as expected. Gave there best in all the songs especially Raja Vasi Reddy, Dammu songs.
Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ali, Brahmanandam, Rahul Dev and others are ok.
Analysis: Dammu is a complete mass package entertainment for only Nandamuri fans, its an out and out potboiler which is completely routine and you wont find any twists and logics behind the story. The entire screenplay would have been better and the judgment of climax scenes are not that intensifying compared to other action films. Boypati was very much successful yet again with dammu and he showed again that he is capable of taking mass action flicks better than anyone. Comedy is not all there and there was no space for lead actress. Venu just came in but the role was very important. Music given by Keeravani was really the backbone of the film. Background score was a standout of Dammu movie. Dammu movie was taken on a high budget and it shows on every scene in the film. Art work, Character makeups and sound quality was the best.
Final Verdict: NTR fans movie in one word, for others its upto there interest as there is nothing new in Dammu except intensifying dialogues from NTR and Songs.
